SENIOR WEB CONTENT MANAGER/EDITOR

As our Senior Web Content Manager/Editor, reporting to the VP of Marketing, you bring experience in all facets of web content production. You’ll be charged with planning and editing high-quality content, which includes managing a team of writers, translators and content producers, covering multiple online properties.
Located in Burlington, ON, Opie Marketing owns and operates several successful niche-market portals and ecommerce websites. Responsibilities:
- Content Management: Manage a team of writers, translators and content producers, including scheduling, assigning, editing, approving and distributing content for our blogs, articles, press releases, and newsletters, as well as email campaigns, white papers, and video scripts.
- Content Creation: Oversee our web content strategy by identifying opportunities for new content development, as well as writing, editing, and ensuring optimization for the online user.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our team of marketing professionals, including product managers, web designers, search engine strategists, and developers.
- Content Consistency: Develop standards, systems, and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, and maintenance; this includes ensuring all content adheres to our brand message.
- Search Engine Optimization: Work with the SEO/SEM team to manage Google keywords and ensure content on public websites is optimized for search from both a technical and content perspective.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of online media experience, including managing and leading an editorial/communications and/or web production team
- Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in publishing, journalism and/or communications
- Minimum of 3-5 years managing projects
- Business diploma or university degree with a writing, editing, or marketing communications focus
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including fluency in English
- Fluency in multiple languages is a strong asset (esp. French, Spanish, German)
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and handle multiple projects concurrently
